In honor of Tumblin' Tuesday thought I would post my favorite picture from Tumblr. This is a photo that The Miller Funk posted of the Super Moon. I hope everyone was able to enjoy it and manifested their dreams into reality! I know I had a great meditation session and recharged my chakras!

Tomorrow I'm off from work so I'll be working on a new post :)

Makeup for Oily Skin Series: Foundation

Sorry for the delay! Work has been super busy surprisingly and I had to wait for my day off to finish this post!

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I am going to share some talc free and oil free options for makeup! In order not to overwhelm everyone, I'm going to turn it into a series!

For the first of the series I'm going to give some more options in the foundation category! Two other brands I'm absolutely obsessed with have really good options! Benefit Cosmetics & Urband Decay Cosmetics.  As I mentioned before, the best options surprising are liquid foundations! For me, mineral makeup and talc just clogged my pores and caused my oil glands to become over active. But, if mineral makeup is doing fine for you I say don't brake what isn't broken!

The first oil free option is called Naked Skin and is made by Urban Decay. This is a
"Weightless ultra definition liquid makeup"
and costs $39. There's 18 different shades so you're bound to find the perfect shade to match your unique complexion.

The second option is also from Urban Decay. This foundation is called Surreal Skin and is $35. This
"cream to powder foundation"
comes in 12 different shades and is perfect for the girl who wants the coverage of a liquid makeup but the feel of a powder!

For our third and fourth options, we have products from Benefit! The first product from Benefit is called Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow. This is a brightening makeup that is not only oil free but it has SPF 25 in it as well!  This product costs $36!

The second product from Benefit is called Some Kind of Gorgeous is known as the
"foundation faker!"
so it is perfect for the girl who doesn't like to wear foundation but loves all the benefits foundation has to offer!

Hope this was helpful! If you have any question just ask! And for the next post in the series I'll talk about some primers and covers up that good for oily skin!

Miley Cyrus Don't Stop

I know I said I was going to continue with talking about how talc is bad for those with oily skin, but i couldn't help but notice all of the chatter going on about Miley Cyrus' new music video for We Can't Stop. After reading all the articles and comments I just had to give my opinion and say JUST LET THE GIRL DO HER THING!

One of the biggest controversies with the song is wether or not she is saying "dancing with Molly" or "dancing with Miley".  Cyrus responds with that she is saying Miley with an accent and not referring to the drug Molly. In my opinion, who cares what she is saying. If she wants to mention a rave drug, let her, it's harmless and just a song. But if she really is just saying her name congrats! Either way I just think it's silly that people care so much.

In the end, everyone needs to stop hating on Miley Cyrus and let her be an artist. She's actually making music she's proud of and fully breaking away from her Hannah Montana days and becoming her own person. This is what a true artist does, they make good music, make videos that you can't take your eyes away from, and have the whole world talking about them. If you ask me, Miley Cyrus is doing everything right! Keep it up! Can't wait to see what's next from her!

How to Deal With Oily Skin

Source:http://goldenageofgaia.com/

Having oily skin is one of the most irritating things to deal with. I've been putting up with it since the 4th grade and never really understood it until seeing a new dermatologist. It turns out your oil glands can become overactive causing the skin to seem dry and flaky when in reality the skin is so backed up with oil the skin begins to flake. But don't panic, there are many ways to prevent your skin from getting oily and to the point of having over active oil glands.

First, make sure your face wash or face wash wipes are oil free. This is crucial. Adding any amount of oil to your skin when you already have a problem will only cause it to get worse.  You don't have to spend extra money on fancy products either. Just make sure whatever product you chose, it is oil free. Here's some of the products I use:

Second, make sure you are moisturizing! I know this sounds crazy because we are dealing with skin that is already oily and seems moisturized, but you still need to make sure it is hydrated.  Again, as long as it is oil free lather on up! I use dermalogica but you can use what ever brand you prefer!

Third, make sure you are using oil free makeup, especially if you are using a powder. Talc can be very bad for people with oily skin (my next post is going to talk more about talc and how it clogs your pores as well as greater details about other oil free makeup!).  As long as the powder you are using has no talc or oil listed in the ingredients, you're good to go! The best makeup for oily skin is actually liquid makeup believe it or not.  The best solution is go to an esthetician and get custom liquid foundation that is oil free. If you don't want to go along with that idea any brand will do as long as oil is not listed in the ingredients. Cover girl has a nice line of oil free/oil controlling liquid foundations as well as powders.

Lastly, make sure you remove ALL your make up at night with an oil free makeup remover. This is one of the most crucial steps! Leaving you makeup on is a terrible habit (one which I am guilty of committing). Following this last step with help move the process along and will help clear up and pimples you have from your oily skin.

Follow these simple steps and make a few minor changes with your makeup and you'll have control over your oily skin in no time!! And remember, my next post is going to go into more about what makeup is good to use for oily skin! I'll tell you what bronzers, blushes, primers, BB creams, tinted moisturizers, highlighters and finishing sprays to use! And much more!

Tara

First Post!

Whenever I stumble across a new blog, they never really explain what their blog is all about and I'm left figuring it out on my own if it's not blatantly obvious. So, I'm going to take the time just to explain what I'm all about!
I'm just your typical 23 year old girly nerd who went to school for Fashion Merchandizing.  But this isn't going to be yet another fashion blog. It's going to contain all the stuff I wish someone would've told me to help me out throughout the years. Hopefully you'll be able to see you're not the only one going through a certain situation and that everyone isn't perfect! I'll share all the tips I've learned with makeup, dealing with oily skin, finding the perfect deals, boy problems, the latest fashion trends, how to survive college and so much more!
Hopefully you'll enjoy my blog and if you ever want me to write about a specific topic feel free to let me know!
Love & Light,
Tara
